Go to Canada For the Olympics

It’s that time again, when competitors from all over the world come and play in the winter Olympics. This February, and March, the Olympics will be held in Vancouver, and Whistler, British Columbia. With just a little over a month away, if you haven’t made your plans to go here, you better hurry. The torch relay is scheduled for February 11th, and the 12th, and people are encouraged to wear something red.

Vancouver is not just host to the winter Olympics, but is a great place to visit any time of the year. There are many different things to see and do, and when you aren’t spending time at the Olympic events, there are many different shops, restaurants, and museums to keep you entertained. The city of Vancouver is divided up into neighborhoods, and each one is a unique experience all its own. Chinatown is always a hub of excitement, with exotic dining experiences, and has a history over a hundred years old. The third largest area in the America’s, there are many sites to explore, like the narrowest commercial building in the world, the Sam Kee Building.

This is just one of the many things that attract people to Vancouver. Open to many people and cultures, Vancouver also has a large gay and lesbian population. If you want to visit this wonderful city, not just for the Olympics, but any time, it is a good idea to plan ahead, as hotels tend to be full most of the year.
