What are the basic requirements to obtain a work permit?

To obtain a work permit, you must show a visa officer that you meet the following requirements:

* you intend to leave Canada after the period of your work is finished;
* you have a labor market information / LMO from HRSDC regarding job offers that you receive;
* you meet the job requirements specified in job offerings;
* you master English or French well enough and can communicate well without supervision
* you will not jeopardize the security of Canada;
* you provide all documents requested by the visa officer to conduct the processing of your application;
* you must undergo a medical examination if you are going to work in Canada for six months or more, or you will be working in the field of health or child care;
* you pay the processing fee is not refundable if your application is rejected
