The Bata Shoe MuseumThe Bata Shoe Museum is a shoe heaven! It features fascinating collections of shoes in Raymond Moriyama’s world class four-storey building. This unique Museum opened its door to the public on May 6, 1995 founded by Mrs. Sonja Bata. The institutions aims to celebrate the functionality of foot wear. It has become an international research and preservation center of footwear with a collection of over 12,500 shoes and other correlated objects. It houses its major collections in four impressive display galleries. From ancient collection to modern, contemporary and world class assortment. It’s a shoe paradise! According to Mrs. Bata, “Shoes are such a personal artifact. They tell about the owner’s social status, habits, culture and religion. That’s what makes them special.” Shoes after all are windows through our soul and indeed it speaks a lot about our heritage.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum”Strange” is the best word to describe Ripley’s Museum structure in Clifton Hill Ontario. The unique museum is presented as fallen Empire State Building with the great King Kong standing on top of it. In fact the museum building is settled in what was the original Ganong Candy Factory, next door to the Ganong Chocolatier, the only place to purchase the much love hand dipped chocolates. The Potato MuseumA 14-foot high potato welcomes you when visiting this exceptional museum in Prince Edward Island. This museum is features the world’s largest exhibit of potato artifacts. It illustrates the role of potato in the Canadian economy with the collection of machines for growing and harvesting potatoes. The museum is proud to present its potato history exhibit, machine gallery, community museum, resource room and the famous Potato Hall of Fame. Founded in 1957, The Textile Museum has over 12,000 collections from more than 200 countries. TMC’s boast of its wide variety of exhibits including traditional fabrics, garments, carpets, basketry, beadwork and contemporary exhibitions of Canadian and foreign artists. In general, the museum celebrates the importance of textile industry to our everyday living. This bizarre institution is founded by Gilbert Rozon after the success of Just for Laughs Festivals on 1993. It aims to develop a happy and humorous atmosphere for visitors of Montreal. It’s a place to go for some hilarious comedy shows (stand-up comedy), information about Qubecois comics, humorous exhibits and galleries. It also feature the famous International Comedy Hall of Fame. and great event venues for business meetings, public/private parties and seminars.
