Vancouver Attractions – Things Not to Miss

No matter where you’re coming from, Vancouver is open to you! Tourists, visitors or new citizens can expect amazing hotspots as this city has a lot to offer. If you’re looking forward to a free weekend or you’re thinking about a place to take your children to, make sure you read this.

Canada Place

Canada Place is surely one of the most amazing spots to visit in Vancouver. It can be described as a combination of a cruise ship and convention center in Vancouver.

Science World

This museum that can bring many prolonged hours of joy and serves as education for children at the same time. You’ll find it at Main Street and the far East end of False Creek.

Chinatown

Chinese being the biggest minority in Vancouver, it’s no surprise that this city has the largest Chinatown in Canada. The place is filled with great markets that provide excellent vegetables, mushrooms, oriental medicine and seafood, both dried and fresh. Visitors will enjoy this part of the town even more as the cultural influence is obvious and makes this place unique.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

For enthusiast suffering from lower adrenaline levels, the Capilano Suspension Bridge will provide the much needed cure, all set in cedar-scented rainforest trails around North Vancouver’s most famous landmark. During summertime, the park is open from 9 AM in the morning until 9 PM in the evening, with an admission fee of $25 for adults and $18 for children. British Columbia residents are eligible for a discount that comes with a season pass. Best months for visits are from May to September.

Grouse Mountain

As one of the premiere attractions of this city, Grouse Mountain offers outdoor sport enthusiasts the opportunity of skiing, snowboarding (it has 25 runs), skating, sleigh riding, snowshoe trails, hiking and various interesting things to watch such as the World Famous Lumberjack Show. The Observatory restaurant provides an excellent panoramatic view on the downtown area and the great West Coast cuisine will make sure nobody will leave hungry.

Historic Gastown

Gassy Jack is credited as one of the most important figures in Vancouver’s past. Just as he would like, today, his place represents a mix of art & entertainment. It’s full of nightclubs, restaurants, art galleries and studios, but you can find film schools and media & design company offices as well. Make sure to check out the steam-powered clock which can be found at the corner of Cambie and Water Street.

The Vancouver Aquarium

A definite must-see spot for all animal enthusiasts, the Vancouver Aquarium offers an insight to the life of more than 60,000 exotic and fantastic living creatures from all over on our planet. The aquarium contains a total of 9.5 million litres of water in 166 tanks. Kids will enjoy shows with dolphins, whales and belugas which are featured daily.
